Chocks away!

Changewatching launches on 17th September 2015.

Actually the site has been publicly accessible for almost a month now, but today is the day the robots exclusions are removed and the site will gradually become known to search engines.

So will this month see a stampede of customers that overwhelms my meagre infrastructure and sets all my servers on fire? Probably not. My experience of running other sites suggests things should be slow enough at the start for me to continue getting things into shape so they'll scale to the sort of numbers that I'd call 'successful' for a site of this sort.

In the meantime, it should tick over nicely even if the first influx is ten or perhaps even several hundred times greater than I expect.

I'll get the fire extinguisher ready, just in case.
